Parts of a Sentence

Parts of a sentence can be thought of as cities or countries in a world of grammar. They include individual parts of speech, but they combine to form a complete sentence. These parts all have different jobs, and characteristics.

The following are the parts of sentence that we will be discussing in this section:

·         Subject (simple, complete, compound)

·         Predicate (simple, complete, compound)

·         Phrases

·         Clauses (independent and dependent)

·         Appositives
